Many managers still need to sign up for Safer Recrutment training!

A key focus for Swindon LSCB during 2007/8 has been to develop safe practices in relation to recruitment and allegations against staff. The good news is that 117 people have been trained in Safer Recruitment so far this year. But, if we are to meet our target, there are still many managers across agencies who need to sign up for training urgently. Read full article.

National Safeguarding Stocktake

In a written ministerial statement of 22 October 2008, the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families Ed Balls and Baroness Morgan announced the terms of reference for the planned stocktake of Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs). Read full article

Information Sharing: Guidance for Practitioners and Managers

In October 2008 a new version of this guidance was published to reflect current policy, and was extended to cover practitioners working with adults and families as well as those working with children and young people. Read full article
