safeguarding Swindon's children together

Information for Workers

Swindon LSCB believes that keeping children safe is everybody's business.

This section of our web site is aimed at people who work with children in whatever capacity, whether as paid workers or as volunteers.

  • For anyone who is concerned about a child and is worried that they are being abused or neglected, it offers guidance on what to do.
  • To help those who work with children be alert for signs of abuse, there is a section on recognising abuse, which includes the definitions from Working Together 2006 together with some of the indicators of abuse.
  • The safeguarding role of each partner agency is described in the Who's Who section.
  • You can access online PDF versions of Swindon Child Protection Procedures, Protocols and Practice Guidance.
  • There are full, interactive details of all safeguarding training organised by Swindon LSCB, a downloadable PDF Training Programme and Booking Form, as well as a list of additonal safeguarding events.
  • Swindon LSCB publishes the Executive Summaries of any Serious Case Reviews that it has to undertake as PDFs, which are available for anyone who is interested to read, together with more general background information.
  • We are continuing to develop resource pages on a range of safeguarding topics, which will include links to useful web sites and key documents, suggested reading and more.
  • A glossary of safeguarding terms and acronyms has been included for reference.

If you have any suggestions for improvements or additions to these pages or if you find a link that doesn't work, please do contact the LSCB Business Manager.
