Child Protection Procedures

SWCPP Logo

The  South West Child Protection Procedures came into force from midnight on 31 January 2007.

You will find the  procedures at:
www.swcpp.org.uk

Core Procedures

The Core Procedures, which provide advice on what should happen if somebody has concerns about the welfare of a child, are based on flow charts 1 to 5 from Working Together 2006, (Chapter 5). They cover managing individual cases, from initial concern through to de-registration/ resolution of multi-agency child protection plan. [Hint: Having opened the Procedures, click Managing Individual Cases]

The procedures are fully interactive. For each topic, they include Key Points, How to Do It and Lessons From Research.  Where they make reference to Working Together 2006, you will find links directly into the source text for easy reference.

Additional Procedures and Supplementary Guidance

In addition to these Core Procedures, there is a range of Further Guidance, sections on Safer Recruitment and Allegations Against Staff as well as Useful Resources and Policies and Protocols.

There are still a number of areas where new regional guidance is still to be developed as well as some where additional local guidance is needed, so it is always worth checking the following pages:
