Swindon LSCB Training - Child Protection 1
Target Group: Level 1, 2 & 3. Priority given to Level 2 & 3.
Must have attended the Foundation Course.
Numbers: 24 Delegates Maximum
Aim
This is a multi agency course with the purpose of familiarising all participants with a working knowledge of local safeguarding child protection procedures and guidelines.
Objectives
- Identify the historical context and key factors of safeguarding children.
- Describe the types of child abuse.
- Define where Significant Harm sits in the abuse spectrum.
- Describe and consider the impact of abuse on children and their families.
- To state the impact on individuals working in safeguarding children.
- To define working together in the safeguarding of children processes and procedures (including the South West Child Protection Procedures.)
- To list the safeguarding roles of statutory and voluntary agencies.
- To describe pre and post referral responsibilities including challenging others.
Course Length: 2 days
Facilitated By: Swindon NSPCC, a health professional, a memberof the Quality Assurance Team & Geoff Wood.
