Swindon LSCB Training - Safeguarding Disabled Children
Target Group: Level 1, 2 or 3.
Individuals in both mainstream and specialist services who have completed the Foundation Course and work with or come into contact with disabled children.
Numbers: 40 Delegates Maximum
Aim
To explore good practice in safeguarding disabled children
Objectives
- To describe the stereotypes and prejudices about disabled children.
- To state the Local protocol for safeguarding disabled children.
- To identify the additional barriers and thresholds, including communicating with disabled children, and consider strategies to overcome them.
- To identify the potential risk factors for disabled children in the context of their environment and family setting.
