Swindon LSCB Training - Foundation Child Protection

Target Group: Level 1 not covered by own agency

Numbers: 30 Delegates Maximum

Aim

To provide individuals with basic awareness and understanding of the issues in relation to safeguarding children.

Objectives

  1. Identify signs and symptoms of child abuse.
  2. State the process you would follow if you suspected child abuse.
  3. Identify the categories of abuse and child abuse statistics.
  4. Identify the possible barriers in safeguarding children.
  5. Compare the different roles involved in safeguarding children
  6. To describe the main differences between Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act 1989.
  7. Identify why child protection has a high profile.

Course length: 3.5hrs
