Swindon LSCB Training - The Effects of Parental/Carers' Mental Health on Children & Young People
Target Group: Level 1,2 or 3. Individuals in both mainstream and specialist services who have completed the Foundation Course and “Understanding Child and Adolescent Mental Health” phase 1 of the Multi Agency Training Programme.
Numbers: 24 Delegates Maximum
Aim
Too increase understanding of the impact on children with a parent/carer with mental health issues.
Objectives
- To clarify the implications of the Department of Health document “See the adult See the child” in their working practices.
- To identify the short and long term potential impact of having a parent with mental health issues.
- To identify the potential child protection risk factors.
- To explore the ways in which children and families can be best supported.
Course Length: 1 day
This course has been developed in partnership with and jointly funded by Swindon Borough Council’s Multi-Agency Training Co-ordinator and the Local Safeguarding Children Board.

This course is free at the point of delivery but a non-attendance and late cancellation charge of £75 applies. If you leave the course early you will also be charged.
