safeguarding Swindon's children together

Information for Workers

Swindon & Marlborough NHS Trust

Swindon & Marlborough NHS Trust provides acute paediatric in patient and outpatient services, including:

  • an emergency department
  • a children’s unit,
  • special care
  • a community children’s nursing team
  • an adolescent unit at Marlborough House.

A comprehensive Child and Adolescent mental health (CAMHS) service is also offered at Marlborough House.

We also provide a child development service currently at the Sadler Unit based at the Victoria Hospital. In 2007 it is planned for the child development service to be re located to Saltway School.

The full range of maternity services, including midwifery led care is provided at the Great Western Hospital and through to the community.

A child and maternal bereavement service is well established.

As an acute provider of children’s treatment and care we acknowledge our responsibilities in the safeguarding of children and young people. We actively promote this through our staff and training programmes.
